Randwick Girls is a school rich in academic traditionRandwick Girls High School is consistently placed in the list of the top 120 academic achieving schools in NSW – state or private and our students are annually represented in the Premier’s honour roll of high achievers.Our school is a safe and caring learning community where our young girls are challenged and inspired to become the women of tomorrow – able to take their place in their chosen professions as leaders of the future. We offer a very broad curriculum ranging from dual accredited school/TAFE courses to the most extensive academic study patterns, where our students gain superb results in all subject levels. Students achieve outstanding results in the HSC with many being placed in the top bands. Over 60% of our students gain entry to university with another 20% going to TAFE. Students regularly gain places in the Premier’s Award for the best all-rounders, achieving the top band in all of their courses. Approximately 28% of students regularly gain across a wide range of HSC subjects. With our shared performing arts complex, our young women have extensive opportunities to participate in our Creative Arts program with ongoing successes in Drama and Dance, culminating in successes as State and National winners of the Rock Eisteddfod, Premier Division - seven wins in the last eight years! Our students are provided with opportunities to excel in all areas of interest. This ranges from the traditional English, Mathematics, Science, Histories and Social Sciences to extensive curriculum offerings in Technology & Applied Studies where Design & Technology, Food Technology, Textiles & Design, Hospitality, Computing Studies, Software Design and Information Processes allow students to develop their practical talents. The Creative Arts faculty provides exciting programs in visual arts, photography, ceramics and music, including instrumental tuition and experiences in our combined school orchestra. Our Languages faculty provides our students with outstanding experiences in four languages – French, Japanese, Modern Greek and Chinese. Overseas visits are a regular part of these programs with visits to Greece, Noumea, China and Japan, annual events. Our young sportswomen are given exciting ongoing experiences across the sporting spectrum through a gifted and talented sporting program. Many now represent the District and State in their chosen sports. The well-being of our young women is reflected in a series of welfare
and discipline programs which are tailored to ensure that all our students
become happy and committed members of our school learning community. |
